VITAL — Field Journal
Born in Ukraine.
Forged with war.
Built to last.
VITAL is not a catalog. It is the result of going to the places where gear fails, watching what happens, and building something better. This is the record of how it started and why we are still at it.
A Ukrainian who served went back
Our founder is Ukrainian. He served. He knew what the front looked like before he knew what a company looked like.
In 2022, he returned — not as an observer, but as someone with eyes calibrated for what was missing. Medics were working with gear that had never been tested under real pressure. Tourniquets that slipped. Pouches that required two hands. Kits assembled around a liability checklist, not a casualty.
The gap was obvious. The decision to fill it was immediate.
“We did not start VITAL to sell pouches. We started it because we watched gear fail people in the worst possible moment, and we knew exactly how to fix it.”
Enough experience.
Enough ideas.
Time to build.
After a year on the ground — sourcing, testing, documenting what works and what fails — there was enough to formalize. VITAL UG was established in 2023. Not as a business plan, but as a structure to hold what was already being built.
The name came from the work. VITAL — because the margin between alive and not is exactly where every product decision gets made.
The first SKUs were not catalog picks. They were answers to specific, observed failures.
What VITAL makes and why
Every VITAL product starts with a problem we watched in the field. The EDC Baghdad was designed for deep concealment in environments where showing kit gets you killed. The IFAK-U was built around the one-hand-accessible principle — because your other hand may not be available. The VROLL was designed for medics who need to reach everything in under four seconds.
The VPACK rucksack. The RBL concealment platform. The modular insert system. Every one of these is a documented gap turned into a product.
The product families
IFAK & Medical Pouches
EDC Baghdad, IFAK-U, VROLL. Designed for one-handed access, built for people who may not get a second chance at their kit.
Carry & Load Systems
VPACK rucksack, TQ holders, modular inserts. Platforms built for people who think carefully about what goes where and why.
Concealment
RBL — Rapid Belt Link. MOLLE platform for IWB and OWB concealed carry. Because not every environment lets you wear your kit openly.
We are still going back. Still embedded. Still watching, asking, and adjusting every product based on what we learn.
Ukraine is not a chapter we closed — it is where VITAL was born and the place that keeps sharpening us. Every new design, every revision, every field iteration traces back to something we witnessed firsthand.
VITAL is operated under ARS — Active Resilience Solutions GmbH, registered in Neudrossenfeld, Bavaria. The company also runs German Medical Equipment (TCCC/TECC medical line) and German Military Equipment (counter-drone, mesh communications). The standard across all three is identical: field-tested before it ships.
